About the

Where high-performing teams from the ICPC North America Regionals test their skills against the best of the best in a challenging 3.5-hour contest with the goal of emerging as a North America Division Champion. Top teams from the NADC will advance to the North America Programming Camp and North America Championship in August 2021 and ultimately have the opportunity to earn a coveted slot at the 2021 ICPC World Finals, the most prestigious programming contest on the planet.

·        30 teams will advance from the NADC to the NAC.

·        At most one team from a university may advance to the NAC.

·        The four highest-ranked universities in each division will advance (their highest-ranked team will advance).

·        The remaining 14 slots will be awarded to the 14 universities which have not advanced a team and which have the highest rank on the combined scoreboard of all 4 divisions.

    • Via internet-based communication tools

  • Permitted access to code

    • Textual (books, notes, etc.)

    • Code stored on local machine

      • NOTE: You might want to make sure your team’s code repositories are private

    • Static code found via web search (via internet)

    • Sharing with team members (email, file share, etc., via internet)

  • Team members may work on problems independently

    • Each team member can work on their own machine

    • Each team member can submit problem solutions to the Contest Control System (CCS)

  • Permitted internet access

    • Search engines and links to websites that the search engines produce that have static information available

    • Submission of problem solutions to CCS

However, those choosing to use their native platform need to be aware of the following:

  • VCSS machines will use the same compilers, with the same command line arguments, as what will be used by the Kattis Contest Control System which will be used to manage the NADC contests.  There is NO guarantee that compilers on your own native platform will be compatible with the NADC compilers, and the risk of differences which might affect team submissions is entirely the responsibility of the teams that choose to use their native platform.

  • VCSS machines use the same contest environment as that which will be used for the ICPC  North America Championship and for the following ICPC World Finals, so using VCSS provides additional experience with that environment.

  • Teams who use their VCSS "Cloud machine" will have built-in support for sharing files on that machine.

  • Any corrections to the contest environment which might need to be made during the contest will be made dynamically to all VCSS machines (both Cloud and Local VMs).  No such mechanism for making
